CATTI Training Program

The China Accreditation Test for Translators and Interpreters also known as CATTI, is a national-level vocational qualification examination commissioned by the National Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, which is administered and managed by the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration. 


In 2017 , the CATTI program was officially opened to foreign candidates, which undoubtedly provides a unique opportunity for foreigners to work in China.


What does the program offer you?


1. Support to obtain a legal internship visa in China and contribute to your career development. 

2. Guaranteed to receive a six month to one year X1 visa. 

3. Trainees will be given the priority to participate in various public welfare and exchange activities organized by the CIPG and other International organizations. 

4. Foreigners who participate in CATTI training and obtain certificates will have the opportunity to be employed as foreign teachers. 

5. Foreigners who have obtained CATTI certificates will also have the chance to apply for a senior translation position and working visa, enjoy competitive salary. 


CATTI Level 1 - Eligible for national-level foreign experts, obtain long-term work visa and apply for permanent residence in China. 

CATTI Level 2 or Level 3 - Opportunity to work in China, apply for a work permit, and obtain a foreign expert certificate.

Registration Process (students who don't need visa)


1. Fill in the registration form 

2. Confirm English and Chinese proficiency via interview 

3. Submit all requested application documents 

4. Survey with university or internship company. 

5. Approve of qualifications 

6. Pay a program fee Start the training in Beijing

Registration Process (students who need X1 visa)


1. Fill in registration form 

2. Confirm the English and Chinese proficiency via interview 

3. Submit all requested application documents 

4. Survey with university or internship company 

5. Get internship and employment triple agreement 

6. Approve of qualifications 

7. Pay the program fee 

8. Provide university admission letter and JW202 

9. Apply for X1 visa 

10. Start the training in Beijing

Requirements for participants


- Speak Fluent English and Chinese 

- No criminal or disciplinary records 

- Submit one or two recommendation letters

- No contagious diseases

- Age between 18 to 40 years old

Program fee


One-time fee for students who have valid and legal visas in China: 11,800RMB 

Including 600RMB registration fee, interview evaluation fee and tuition fee 

Excluding 450RMB exam fee and other possible costs 


One-time fee for students who participate in the training and need to apply for a half-year X1 visa: 15,800RMB 

Including 600RMB registration fee, interview evaluation fee, tuition fee, visa fee and visa service fee 

Excluding 800RMB insurance, 400RMB physical check fee and 450RMB exam fee 

Note: Students who have not passed the CATTI certificate exam will need to pay 15800RMB to extend another half year X1 visa 


One-time fee for students who participate in the training and need to apply for a one-year X1 visa: 19,800RMB 

Including 600RMB registration fee, interview evaluation fee, tuition fee, visa fee and visa service fee 

Excluding 800RMB insurance, 400RMB physical check fee and 450RMB exam fee 

Note: students who need help for internship placement must pay extra 5000RMB
