In Hangzhou last month the very awaited G20 Summit was held with a vast amount of media coverage, it was pretty hard to miss this event. There was much controversy around the event, alongside some thoroughly important topics.
China is sought to be one of the leading countries of which other countries want to partner up with and cross educational and cultural borders. Where deepening educational ties between the world’s strongest economies was on the agenda at the summit here.
Including Mexico being one of the main countries looking east past America to China, with their country’s president referring to China as a global economic power where their priority is to develop the start of a beneficial relationship with the country. Peña Nieto went onto say that ‘Education and culture have helped to enrich mutual understanding and reinforce the friendship of the two nations that both enjoy millennial cultures’ talking in regards to the various cultural exchanges that have gone on between the countries.
A key point of discussion was the controversial immigration points system, whereby an immigrant in a certain country would be ranked by a certain score, where few countries such as the UK completely disagreed with this, as it ‘won’t stop immagration’. However recently Shanghai has currently adopted a point scoring system based on those foreigners working within the city, it can see which foreigners are of higher quality and should have more use for the country.
Recently the high quality of Chinese education is being a large discussion topic throughout the world, in which is showing the vast amount of resources and efforts that the government is contributing towards the industry to promote high quality educational resources not only in China but also around the world as Peking University and Tsinghua University are now within the top 100 universities in the world.
The summit was host to many discussions regarding the quality of Chinese education alongside many organizations and countries stating their interest in promoting excellent international collaborations in-between the educational resources in the countries. The greatest outcome for the summit was the ‘innovation’ standard that has come out of the summit, which is where all countries need to work innovatively to promote this cross-cultural exchange and help provide further information and knowledge to each other to develop education standards globally, something that China now has as their top priority.
We, Hongzhou Learning are really happy about this as this means that we are contributing to helping students achieve their dream to study in China, and with the help from all of the countries in the world, we can help you achieve it!
